FAQ

Before you visit, the honest answers.

Most of what stops people from visiting isn't logistics. It's not knowing what they're walking into. Here's the real answer to what visitors actually ask us.

Before you visit

Will I be sold to?

Is this a pyramid scheme or MLM?

No. Every member runs their own independent business. There's no product to buy, no downline, and nothing you're signed up under. The only thing that moves between members is referrals, and only ones people actually want to give.

Will I be pressured to join?

No. There's no obligation to join after visiting, and no one will corner you about it on the day. Visitors are welcome to come back more than once before deciding anything.

Is there a sales pitch I have to sit through?

No pitch aimed at visitors. The meeting is member introductions, two featured presentations from rotating members, and open networking. It's the same format whether or not you're thinking of joining.

Can I visit more than once before deciding?

Yes. You get three visits in total, and they're shared across any BNI Singapore chapter, not just ours. Use them to see if we're the right fit, and if we are, apply to join.

Cost & commitment

What does it cost, and what am I on the hook for?

Is there a fee to visit?

Joining online is free. When we meet in person on the first Friday of the month, there's a $70.00 fee at the door that covers breakfast and the room. Pay on arrival, nothing to book in advance.

If I don't join, do I owe anything?

No. Visiting isn't a commitment of any kind. There's no contract, no follow-up fee, nothing owed for simply attending.

What does membership cost if I do want to join?

Membership fees are covered when you're ready to apply and depend on the plan. Ask our visitor host for current pricing, or get in touch.

Will someone chase me after I visit?

No. You decide if and when to follow up. There's no sales cadence waiting for you after Friday.

On the day

Do I have to perform?

Do I have to speak or introduce myself?

Yes, but it's brief: about 10 seconds for your name and what you do. It's an introduction, not a pitch, and no one's judging delivery.

What if I don't have a referral to give anyone?

That's completely normal for a first visit. Visitors are there to see how the room works, not to arrive with referrals in hand.

I'm new in business. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Plenty of our members joined early on, before they had a long track record. The room is built around ongoing relationships, not a resume check at the door.

What should I wear?

Formal business attire. We want everyone in the room, members and visitors alike, to look professional.

Fit & eligibility

Do I even fit here?

What if someone in my profession is already a member?

Each category is held by one member at a time, so it's worth checking before you visit. Our visitor host can tell you whether yours is open, or you can check your category here.

Is my business too small or niche for this?

We're 66 members across 8 industry groups, everything from law and accounting to photography and funeral planning. If you can name your profession, there's a good chance it fits.

Can I bring a colleague or business partner?

Yes. Just have each of you register separately as a visitor so we know to expect you both.

What kind of businesses are actually in the room?

See for yourself: the full member directory is public, with everyone's profession and business listed.
